WHO I AM
I am a long time Newmarket resident, father of three, and have spent the last 13 years as the Director of Recreation & Culture for the Town of Newmarket. On both a personal and professional level, I love this community and am committed to making it better!

MY MISSION
My mission is to help build strong, connected schools where communication is open, representation is transparent, and every student has the opportunity to succeed.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ME
I am committed to strengthening communication and collaboration between the Board, parents, and teachers, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected. I will provide open, transparent, and accountable representation to the residents of Newmarket, with decisions guided by the interests of students and the broader community.

WHAT I BELIEVE
I believe schools are more than places of learning—they are essential to building strong, inclusive, and connected communities. By working collaboratively with students, families, educators, and the community, I will support an environment where students can thrive, educators can succeed, and families feel informed, valued, and engaged.

A Lifetime in Education. A Career in Community.
Public education has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I am the child of an elementary school principal and a high school teacher. I am the brother of a high school teacher and the husband of an elementary school teacher. Today, I am the proud parent of three children at three different stages of their educational journeys: university, high school and elementary school.
In many ways, I have spent my entire life immersed in public education. I have experienced it as a child, a sibling, a spouse and, perhaps most importantly, as a parent.
Those experiences have shaped my deep belief in the value and importance of a strong public education system. Our schools do so much more than educate our children. They help build confidence, create opportunity, foster belonging and strengthen the communities we call home.
Community has also been at the heart of my professional life.
As the Director of Recreation & Culture for the Town of Newmarket, I have the privilege of going to work every day with a simple but meaningful purpose: to help make our community better. My career has been dedicated to public service, working with residents, community organizations, staff and partners to create opportunities for people to connect, participate and feel that they belong.
That experience has taught me the importance of listening. It has taught me that good decisions require thoughtful consideration of different perspectives, responsible stewardship of public resources and a willingness to work collaboratively toward solutions. Above all, it has reinforced my belief that strong communities are built when people feel heard, respected and included.
Why School Board Trustee?
I believe the role of School Board Trustee sits at the intersection of two things that have defined my life: education and community.
I understand public education not simply as an institution, but through the experiences of the people closest to me: educators, students and parents. I also bring years of professional experience in municipal leadership and public service, where serving the community, working collaboratively and making responsible decisions are part of what I do every day.
I would bring those perspectives to the role of Trustee with a commitment to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, make responsible decisions and always keep students and their success at the centre of the conversation.
Our students deserve exceptional schools. Our educators and staff deserve support. Parents and families deserve a voice. And our community deserves Trustees who understand that public education is one of the most important investments we can make in our collective future.
For me, serving as a School Board Trustee would be an opportunity to bring together a lifetime connected to education and a career dedicated to community in service of students, families and the community I am proud to call home.
